It's difficult for me to understand why I should even trust the validity of this story without further details. Sad that it's come to that, but people on the far Left have cried wolf too many times in recent months, so they have no one but themselves to blame for all the skepticism and mistrust that comes their way.
Whether or not this story ends up being true (meaning an actual hate crime occurred, not a con job intended to create controversy), you have to be either a major chump or simply desperate to have your partisan biases confirmed to believe stories this brief and void of information outright. Perhaps when the publishers of the article update it with some hard evidence--at least a CCTV still of the incident--I might start to actually give a fuck, instead of having to wonder if it was someone associated with the group trying to foment hysteria and outrage.
Were not in the politics section and I would consider what you are suggesting to be a conspiracy theory. If somebody was trying create controversy, they didn't do a very good job as the only media outlet that ran the story was NJ.com and I found it on Reddit.
