America is in danger of losing one of its core founding principles — freedom of religion.

The Pilgrims settled in the New World to escape religious persecution — 400 years later we’re encountering it again. If the confirmation hearings for a recent judicial nominee are any indication, U.S. Senate Democrats are leading the charge.

Freedom of religion -- something which Republicans enshrine as precious when they justify pizza shops refusing to serve gay customers but then summarily reject when Muslims complain that Republicans hate them.
