The media are now publishing anonymous sources who claim to have heard someone ELSE talking about something Trump said as being proven fact.  (ABSURD!)

In a similar vein, the premise of being "innocent until proven guilty" is a delusional joke.
For example, earlier this month a college student's body was found and they just arrested a suspect.
Well, forget about suspect.  The media have already convicted this guy.  That is a problem.  For instance, it is possible that the guy died by accident, or the guy died after the two of them had an argument and were fighting, etc.
It is quite unfair and dangerous to imply someone's guilt before they go to trial.
An extremely important thing to determine before implying guilt is to come up with a motive.  I have not seen any motive suggested in this case which leaves too many questions to be implying guilt.

To convict someone of murder, they are required to provide means, motive, and opportunity.

In the case I often refer to, no motive was ever given.  In particular, it is know that murder was meticulously planned out in advance.. however the man they convicted of the crime did not remove his money from the bank until days AFTER the murder, he didn't buy rubber gloves to clean up the crime scene until AFTER the murder, he didn't purchase a plane ticket until AFTER the murder and even then - he had no place to go.  I wrote over 60,000 pages about that case...

Innocent until proven guilty has always been a joke. At no time in American history has that been true.
But the case of which I think you are speaking has been judged by what the accused said in his police interview. That made him pretty much a murderer.
Facts convict, not opinions.

In the case I refer to, the guy did nothing but insist he did not do the crime when interviewed by the police.  20 months after the murder, his fraudulent attorney convinced him to pursue a fraudulent insanity plea, which requires one to not deny doing the crime.  Even then, they guy consistently pled "not guilty" and never confessed to anything.  The only thing he did was not DENY it.

The media is fucking evil when it comes to this kind of crap.

A woman chef was murdered and the media pinned it on her elderly landlord because he looked odd.   Turns out it was the Danish guy in the flat below her.    The media destroyed the poor landlord.

I'm really disgusted with the media taking anonymous claims and broadcasting them as if they are true.

A couple of other examples of the media destroying lives...
#1   Richard Ricci.. accused and convicted of kidnapping and murdering a girl.. beaten to death in his cell by 2 detectives.. and months later the girl is found alive walking down the street with the family she ran away with.
#2  The "Olympic Park Bomber"  who later turned out to be some other guy who had a habit of blowing up abortion clinics.
#3  The anthrax postal letter guy.. who was harassed 24 hours a day and followed everywhere.. only to find out later that it was some scientist who committed suicide by jumping off a bridge.
#4  In Florida.. in Gainseville.. this big "dopey" young guy was blamed for several murders on college campuses.. only to find out it was serial killer Danny Rolling.

Frederick, what you are talking about has been going on long before the news media started playing a part in it. In decades past, when something happened suspects were rounded up and the less desirable of them were most likely to be hung by community outrage. Thats why so many innocent young black men were killed in southern states during the civil rights era.
The television news media had a strict code of ethics for a long time. Opinion pieces and hearsay were considered gossip.
But then came the late 80's. Jerry Springer show was number one and fox news was launched that broke the mold. The began running opinions of experts as facts and news. Fox news started climbing in the polls and guess what? More and more stations started doing the same thing. Its all about the money.
During the early 90's fox news was pretty much an exact copy of reading the Globe or National Inquirer. Not really news but tons of gossip and opinions. They really haven't changed to this day. The entire "pizza gate" sham was all on Fox's head. They were the first to run it and kept it up for weeks. With no proof or backup, just a unverified opinion and gossip. Much like the United Nations is taking over America stories they ran during the Clinton presidency.
Today we have the internet that doesn't require any of that integrity. Today you can get the news slanted any way you want. Left, right, and everything else, served up just the way you like it.
Today, the mere mention of gossip is almost enough to convict and ruin a persons life and career. Its the modern day weapon of choice of politicians. Destroy your opponent in the poll's and your good to go.

One would hope that over time, with vastly improved methods of recording and transmitting information.. these disasters would no longer happen.  Sadly things are as bad as ever.

In regards to news organizations,   CNN used to be the undisputed #1 source for accurate news, while Fox News was a joke.  Now the roles have REVERSED.  How did that happen?  I would prefer not to have my news slanted at all.  It would be nice if news organizations stuck to REPORTING the news.
