President Obama has announced a new effort to help the push for fair maps when it comes to redistricting. While some have already gone down the conspiracy theory route, as always when it comes to President Obama, I am all in on this fight. It is time to finally redraw maps in a fair way instead of the way partisan operatives have been doing for the past two decades. This has been a problem with both Democrats (Maryland) and Republicans (everywhere else) and I'm glad President Obama is ready to organize and help get rid of super-partisan gerrymandering.

I also love the name, Redistricting U. It's catchy and isn't filled with white supremacist dog whistles like MAGA  Cheers

Obama needs to go away.    Imagine how butt hurt you and your fellow lunatics would be if GWB and other former Presidents constant criticized Obama while he was President.

MAGA isn't about white supremacy, except to lunatics.   It's about the US having manufacturing in all sectors like we used to have.   It's about ending NAFTA.   It's about getting all NATO nations to pay their legal obligations of 2% of GDP, instead of letting them pay as little as nothing and the US topping up NATO's funds.

GWB left office with a 22-28% approval rating. President Obama left office with a 60% approval rating. Yeah, he should definitely go away.  :Smiley

I am against the unfair gerrymandering practices Democrats have used in Maryland and I am against the unfair gerrymandering practices Republicans have used everywhere else. President Obama is right, it's time to draw districts fairly and let the chips fall as they may.

Doesn't mean anything.  Former Presidents don't do that, except for Obama.

I'm also against gerrymandering.

Maybe Obama and others who think they are still in office should have done something about it while they were in office.

And most modern presidents have released their tax returns. If Trump gets to ignore a standard that has been around for a long time, then President Obama can argue against and start initiatives to counteract white supremacist MAGA policies instead of stepping back from the political landscape.  Cheers

I pity you in the way you wallow in victimhood.

You blame everything on white people and "white supremacy".

You stub your toe, blame whitey.

You ran out of gas, blame crackers.

You felt like being lazy and didn't cut your grass, honkeys caused it.

You overslept and were late for a meeting, "white supremacy" is why.

You are just like that black chick on Jesse Lee Petersen's podcast, where she was uber privileged, but still blamed everything on white people, including her laziness to do her school work.     She admitted she was too busy living her privileged life to be able to bother.    Of course, it was all the fault of "white supremacy".    It was her laziness and uber privilege why she needed AA, according to her own words.   It would have been racist for her not to have lower grades and SAT scores and still get into UCLA.

I am not a victim. I simply don't have the luxury to overlook the fact that one misperceived move in this country could get me killed because I am black. You can use your one example all you want but you cannot tell me what my experience has been in this country nor can you tell any black person what their experiences have been in this country because you'll never know what it is like to be black. I wish I could be in a position where I could just sit back and make a mockery out of the fact this country has a bloody and disgusting past and present. Unlike you, I do have to live in it every day and I will continue to be here calling it out until it changes. As angry as you are at the mere presence of black people, you can never erase or break us. Slavery and Jim Crow couldn't erase us so you damn sure can't do it. As angry as you are at us for calling out this country and its flaws, you can't shut us up and you never will. It'll all become clearer once the bigot abandons you and goes back to his private life.

MAGA is a cult with diverse people who have one thing in common: hate. MAGA is about white supremacy, anti-black/brown immigration, anti-woman, anti-LGBTQ, insert white male cause, insert incel male cause, etc. and without Hillary running, that fact is going to be that much clearer in the upcoming election. There is going to be some serious, serious payback for what this country did by electing a blatant bigot to the presidency for the first time in a long time. You're going to be wishing President Obama was still in office when we get a far-left president who erases white supremacy for good and moves us the forward. Do you honestly still think Trump can round up those same exact 77,000 votes across 3 states again? He couldn't even help keep midwest gubernatorial seats Republican in 2018 with Ohio being the only exception. Good luck.

LOL, you really need to look at the facts before you claim to be victimized due to being black.

Black cops are the most likely to shoot and white cops the least likely to shoot, with the other races in the middle.  It's only about a 5 point difference, though.

We've talked about this several times before here, so you can go back and look at those threads.

For some reason, there seem to be no records for shooting but not killing a cop by race of shooter.   We do know the numbers of cop killers via shooting by race.

Blacks kill cops 4x their portion of the population.

Blacks are shot (killed or wounded) by police at 2x their portion of the population.

Blacks commit just over half of the violent crime despite being only 13% of the US population.

MAGA for most people is about bringing jobs, namely manufacturing jobs back to the US, except to the liberal identitarians who believe EVERYTHING is white supremacy.    You're a piece of trash just like all liberals.   You falsely make claims why people support Trump.    It was Bill Clinton that signed into law the 3 most homophobic laws in US history.   It was Obama that race baited everything.  It was Hillary that demonized everyone who wouldn't blindly vote for her vagina.

Michael Brown was a justified kill.  Obama's DoJ proved that with 100 FBI agents and 20,000 pages of reports.  Liberals still do the "hands up, don't shoot" lie.

That woman who lived streamed her boyfriend after he was shot wasn't as bad as you liberals want everyone to believe.    He wasn't the victim.  He caused himself to get shot because he kept reaching for the glove box, even after he was told not to.  The whole thing was caught on the cop's body cam.    Liberals tried to blame a white cop, but the cop was hispanic, but that doesn't fit your narrative.

Funny how we rarely hear about cases where whites are killed by police, but we always hear about blacks who in some way caused their own death and the MSM play them as the victim.

My forever response to any MAGA nonsense. When the cult changes its mission, I'll change my definition for it.  True

Your blind hatred for whites is very apparent.

You ignore the facts, like the ones I posted above, so you can play the victim.

You worship a party that hates you.   Bill Clinton signed into law the 3 most homophobic laws in US history and one of them was (supposedly) authored by Chuck Schumer (Religious Freedom Restoration Act).

They don't care about helping their own, but rather helping illegals instead.   This was a switch in 2015 due to Trump.

with a popular vote, you wouldnt have any issues with gerrymandering.

i just wish america would join the other western democracies and get rid of the electoral college and have popular voting instead. as i understand the electoral college was implemented in the 18th century because of issues with slavery in the south of america. i would think an electoral college has no real purpose in the 21st century.

YEP, you're a blind liberal who gets his "news" from MSM liars.

The Electoral College was created to prevent cities from having total say in every election.    Of course, every white person not living in a US city owned at least 10,000 slaves.  Illinois is a well known slavery state, didnt'cha know.

Wikipedia isn't trustworthy.  Only an idiot believes that it is.   Maybe you should look into the history and problems of Wikipedia before you blindly believe what it tells you.

I bet you also believe SNOPES, despite being proven to have lied.

no idea what snopes is but i do read bellingcat.

wikipedia is a great source of peer-reviewed information. if any fact lacks a citation it is shown and controversial pages are being fact checked continuously. but oh yeah, "fact checking" isnt really that popular with alt right media, i can see why someone from the alt right could be confused about fact checking.

i still want to know why you think popular vote would give large cities "total say in every election". i cant really understand your statement except if it would be to reduce democracy in usa. which would be bad regardless if it would be a leftist or rightist skewing.

You really need to read up on Wikipedia and its biases.

Feminist "editathons" is a good one, where they go through pages and make them have a feminist slant.

I think it was the Danish royal family that edited out their scandals.

Wikipedia has too many problems to be trusted.

SNOPES is supposed to be a fact checker, but they now are heavily biased toward the left.   They have been caught in proven lies.

Instead of doing a bit of fact checking on your own, you just call me "alt-right" as if that offends me anymore.   You people just screech whatever names you can think of at your enemies.

lol, i dont call you alt right as a slur meant to provoce you, is use it because its a it is a good description for how your opinions lean.

if you dont like my reference to wikipedia for the electoral college its easy to fact check the sources in the article. again, im not surprised someone from the alt right would try fact checking.

and what was this weird theory that large cities will have total say in every election? do you support less democratic elections?

You must be totally clueless that you can't understand how a couple of major cities and California (southern 1/3rd) would rule the US in a popular vote for the President.

Do you really think people living in cities care about farmers and those living in small town America?    I have lived in a small town and major cities.  City people are greedy and only think about themselves.

We already see people in non-city areas being forgotten, under the current system.   It would be far worse if the President was only chosen by the major cities.

The US is 228 bigger than Denmark and is far more mixed than.    350+ million people vs 5.6 million people.
