Hollywood’s biggest 22 y/o scam artist says it’s “awkward” when his bf’s dead relatives contact him.

Did we say scam artist? We meant “clairvoyant medium.” (No. We had it right the first time.)

For the blissfully uninitiated, Tyle Henry is the 22-year-old host of Hollywood Medium with Tyler Henry, in which he deftly employs hot and cold reading techniques to convince people he has psychic powers.

In 2015, the Independent Investigations Group awarded Henry’s show the Truly Terrible Television Award “in acknowledgment of the extraordinary ongoing deceit of the American public represented in this television program.”

You could argue it’s all in good fun, but critics like Neurologist Steven Novella say that “working with the grieving is very tricky. The potential for harm is tremendous.” He calls Henry a “grief vampire.”

And yet…

The show is about to begin its third season on E!, so who knows, maybe Henry really does have powers to contact the dead (he doesn’t), and maybe the best use of those powers is to tell Latoya Jackson who was in the room with Michael when he died (it isn’t).

Whether he is the real deal (ha), delusional or just your garden variety scammer, Henry has opened up about what it’s like when his boyfriend Clint’s dead relatives “make contact.”

“One of the beauties of intuition is that if I was interacting with someone that didn’t feel right or they were kind of creeped out by what I was able to do, then they clearly weren’t the right fit,” Tyler explained to E!

“And I’m really thankful with Clint, he from the get-go understood this, was open to it and he respects it. And there’s still times where we’ll be hanging out at 11 o’clock at night and something will come through from his grandfather or I’ll get a message for his family and he understands that I kind of have to get it out so we can go about our evening.

“So it’s a little awkward but he understands how I work and when I see something I just have to share it so I can go back to focusing on whatever I was doing.

“I’m going to have to start charging him,” he joked.

Stupid is as stupid does, and the viewers of "reality-TV"-trash like this deserve every insult lobbed their way - they drag-down the rest of civilization with their own shallow idiocy.

Tyler Henry in particular is a leech who preys upon tragedy and emotional vulnerability. Exploiting a person's dead relatives is just not cool.

A very large portion of the general public is dumb as rocks. My great Uncle was a medium and made a small fortune working the minds and hearts of hurt and despondent people. The way he described it to me is that he provided therapeutic help to people in metaphysical situations.
In all his years he never got sued, never got hate and even the local sheriff would stop by for a little enlightenment once in a while.
He basically listened to people and told them either what they wanted to hear or needed to hear to move on.

The best mediums are actually good at reading people and being mentalists.    Rubbish mediums need tricks and gimmicks to distract you from the process.

Yeah, I'm sure Henry uses cold and hot reading (mentalist techniques) to perform "psychic" acts tbh.

Always approach "clairvoyant" with a healthy amount of skepticism. Learning to read people is not that hard, and they usually exploited this to get the desired response of their client.

How on earth would a 22 year old have that kind of "ability" in the first place?

I went to a medium after my partner passed away. My sister had gone to him, heaped praise on him, told me how he's the biggest thing in Atlantic City and is booked for weeks in advance, and said he was unbelievable. Well, she was right. He was definitely unbelievable. He was telling me the most generic things that could apply to 90% of people, yet somehow managed to pick out ones that didn't apply to us. It was good for a few laughs at least (which I needed at the time since I was heavily greiving).

I'm not saying I don't believe in supernatural phenomena. I've experienced it many times. I also know though that there's a lot of people who will capitalize on other people's vulnerabilities and beliefs. So even though I keep an open mind, it's also open to the fact that there's scam artists out there.

Mediums? On TV? A scam?

I am shocked and appalled!
